About This Website

SoldByTroy.com is a real estate website designed to provide useful and up-to-date information about the Greater Baltimore area real esate market. I currently focus on all counties in central Maryland, to include Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Howard County, Carroll County, Anne Arundel County, Harford County, Frederick County, Prince Georges County and Montgomery County.

The latest iteration of the website not only includes my listings, but easy-to-use search capabilities for listings throughout central Maryland. Visitors to the website can very quickly look up MLS numbers or street addresses with a few simple clicks, and see full photo tours of any listing.

By providing real estate information and easy access to MLS listing searches for prospective buyers, I've found that I am able to increase buyer engagement and bring additional attention to my listings, which ultimately leads to a faster sale for my seller clients.

About Me

I am the founder of SoldByTroy.com and Associate Broker with Real Estate Professionals Inc. I have been an active real estate agent for 21 years. A native of Baltimore City, I am intimately familiar with most areas of the Baltimore Metro area, including the surrounding counties.

Having graduated with highest honors with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland in 1996 and working as a software developer for several years thereafter, I turned my focus to real estate sales and investment in 2002 and have not looked back.

However I do still enjoy programming as a hobby and one way I keep my skills sharp is by creation and maintenance of this website! If you don't find me doing "comps" for a seller or going through listings for a buyer on the hunt for their next home, you'll find me adding little touches here and there to modernize this site, or the occasional massive overhaul when I find an old piece of code that I think needs improvement. In 2023 I did my 3rd complete overhaul of the site design, modernizing the interface, creating an extremely robust search, making it more cosmetically appealing, and updating content. If you find a section of the site that doesn't work properly or could work better, please let me know!

The other skill I've honed over the years is in understanding home renovation and rehab from the ground up. I've spent hundreds upon hundreds of hours in home improvement stores over the years, sourcing materials for my own projects and those of my clients. It allows me to accurately assess the cost of various home repairs and upgrades, which is very important in helping clients make decisions about properties they are selling or evaluating for purchase. I've even invested in software to help me do professional architectural designs of entire homes, kitchens, bathrooms or other areas typically requiring precise measurements to perform upgrades.

My Motivation

When you run a small business that relies on the public as clientele, you have to have expertise, motivation, focus and of course the correct messaging. Luckily I have an amazing staff that ensures success in each of these areas.

First meet my Motivator-in-Chief, Preston Williams. At 16, he is the oldest member of my staff, and shines as a big brother. His warm personality makes him likable to all who meet him, and his skills on the piano will delight your ears. Being 4 years away from starting college ($$$$), his journey brings me constant motivation to succeed in business!

Next up, let me introduce my Secretary of Focus, Sophia Williams. Sophia’s most inspiring trait is her amazing focus, which as a young child she channeled into amazing dance skills, winning in group competitions with her dance school. Now, at 14, she is 7 years into being a great flute player and artist. She never quits on herself, and her focus on the details makes her exceptional in every way.

Finally, let’s not forget about my Press Secretary, Adriana Williams. Adriana brings energy, purpose and exuberance that keeps everyone on the staff going. She aspires to be the boss sooner rather than later, as evidenced by her ability to tell everyone what they need to do, or should be doing, which she has all figured out even at the age of 5. Her love for stickers, however, is what made her so good at her job as Press Secretary, because she can “press” stamps onto my marketing postcards like no one else!

So as you can see my staff is what keeps me going and complements my expertise in the business. They make sure I never forget how important family is when I work with clients and are a constant reminder that this business is about helping people, not just about the almighty dollar.
